Trunk or Treat

Our 2016 Trunk Or Treat Theme: Pick A Winner

I searched Pinterest extensively for Trunk or Treat ideas, so I know there are A LOT of ideas. I really liked the Trunks decorated to look like faces, but we wanted to give it a twist and make it more original. Voila! Not a whole face, just a nose.

What we used:

  • Twin Size Black Flat Sheet (can use a F/Q for a fuller drape)
  • 1/2 Yard Green Fabric
  • Green streamers
  • Green silly string
  • LOTS of Painter’s tape
  • Optional: 1/2 Yard Toile or Netting (to put behind nostril)
  • Other decorations we used: 5 bales of pine straw, 6 foam pumpkins, 1 painted foam pumpkin (we drilled with holes to fill with small lollipops), 2 posterboard signs painted to say “U-Pick” and “Pick A Winner.”
  • A small stool to help the littles reach the nostrils.

My daughter drew the nose on the green fabric with a pencil, I cut it out and hot glued it to the middle of the black sheet. (If you use a bigger sheet, adjust where you place the nose. You don’t want a lot of fabric above the nose, only enough to position it correctly on the vehicle.)

At the Trunk or Treat Event, I stood outside the van yelling, “Come pick my nose! Who’s brave enough to pick my nose?” (Yes, I have that kind of sense of humor.)

The Trunk or Treat judges chose “Pick A Winner” as THE Winner!
